Concorde Motors India Ltd (CMIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors Ltd, was exclusively chosen to deliver the first Nano in the country.

"A promise is a promise". This was the statement coined by the Tata Group Chairman, Mr.Ratan Tata at the Nano launch. Living upto this promise, the first Tata Nano car was delivered to Mr.Ashok Raghunath Vichare of Mumbai. At the company's own dealership, the chairman handed over the keys of Tata Nano LX (Lunar Silver) to Mr.Vichare on 17th July.

Mr.Ratan Tata was accompanied by Mr.P.M.Telang, the new M.D of Tata Motors & other senior officials from Tata Motors and Mr.Anupam Misra, the President of Concorde Motors India Ltd. Along with Mr. Vichare, two other customers, Mr. Ashish Balakrishnan (Tata Nano LX – Sunshine Yellow) and Kores India Limited (Tata Nano LX – Lunar Silver), also received their cars.

At Concorde, Mumbai, Mr.Tata delivering his speech commented, "I hope the Tata Nano will bring motoring pleasure to those who will be buying their first car as also those who currently own cars but want a modern, contemporary, emission-friendly city car.” Adding to this, Mr.Anupam Misra remarked “The Tata Nano is truly a landmark in the automobile history of India. We feel privileged to have been given this honour and will continue to strive to provide the best sales and after-sales experience to all our customers’’.

The much awaited & sought after Nano car thus hit the roads on 17th July. With Tata Motors setting a new benchmark in the Small Car segment, the Nano holds a promise for the Indian Automobile Industry while being globally acclaimed.
